Introducing the Phoenix Teaching Team

Tracy Cole - Lead Teacher

I began in this role in September 2018 when Julie ,who had previously lead both a very successful teaching section and an amazing competitive squad, decided that the time had come to split the role and hand the responsibility of leading the teaching section to someone else so that she could concentrate on her role as a passionate Head Coach. I was already teaching in this fantastic club and was delighted to be asked to step up and fill this position.

I came to swim teaching from a more classroom based role as a SENCO( early years). Both of my sons were keen swimmers and I was a parent volunteer, registered timekeeper and judge in training at a local swimming club. As a family we have always enjoyed spending time together participating in various water activities so when personal circumstances required a change in direction I qualified as a swim teacher and have never looked back.

I believe that swimming and water safety are life skills that everyone should be able to access. I see every swimmer as an individual on their own personal journey and my job is to help them along this road. I currently teach at a swimming club academy, a local leisure centre, for private swim schools and as a schools swimming instructor.

Leading the teaching section at Phoenix is a truly rewarding and humbling experience and I look forward to working with everyone and being part of the future growth and development of our amazing club that embraces our motto of 'Ability not Disability'.

If you have any questions, concerns or ideas for the teaching section please email me on tracy.phoenix.swim@outlook.com, alternatively I am always available on poolside from 4.30 each Saturday before our session begins.
